Penny Streeter OBE wins Business Woman of the Year 2019

The owner of Nom Nom Eateries, a subsidiary of the luxurious Benguela Collection, also home to Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate, Penny Streeter OBE, has won yet another award. At the South African Chamber of Commerce Awards, Penny Streeter OBE won the Business Woman of the Year Award on 15 May 2019.

Who Wins this Prestigious Award?

The South African Chamber of Commerce Awards is a celebration of the best efforts and achievements of the South African community in the UK. To be considered for the Business Woman of the Year, is a remarkable achievement. Other finalists included female representatives from Coca-Cola, Sanlam UK, and the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.

The Business Woman of the Year award is given to a business woman who is achieving in business, either in her own company or as an employee, who is an inspirational leader, recognised in her field and is or could be a role model to other women.


Penny Streeter OBE’s Achievements

Penny started off living in a homeless shelter with three children. Through sheer hard work and tenacity, she has since built a business empire from the ground up. Now Penny Streeter OBE is CEO of the A24 Group and the Benguela Collection.  She is one of the most successful women entrepreneurs in South Africa and the United Kingdom.

In 2006, Penny was honoured by the Queen of England, with the title of Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) for "Services to Enterprise".

This record of success has been achieved all through her own efforts, with no bank loans or outside investors. She is a champion in the media, for her employees and for women in business, sharing her story and experience to help others.

Her core business, the medical recruitment agency A24Group, which she founded in 1996 has achieved outstanding results with a great business model which Penny created and evolved. Since 2016 she has also built a major wine, hospitality and leisure business across the UK and SA through the Benguela Collection.
